Restaurants are always a good place to stop off when visiting an area and downtown Walla Walla is full of them. The wide selection includes options for pizza, Italian, American, steak and bakeries. The majority of the restaurants are local and offer a diverse menu options. Breweries and wineries in downtown walla walla

Walla Walla sits amidst Washington's wine country and there are plenty of wineries in and around the city for you to try. Downtown Walla Walla Foundation lists several different spots for you to taste wine while visiting. Each of the wineries offers a unique experience as it comes to wines. To go along with the various wineries in town, there are also some breweries you can visit. Some of these breweries are Locust Cider & Brewing Co and 2nd Street Distilling Company. Many of the wineries and breweries offer food along with their drinks.
Fort Walla Walla Museum

It can be fun to learn the history of an area and Fort Walla Walla Museum is just the place to do it in town. Fort Walla Walla is a 19th-century military establishment and the museum features 17 buildings that include historic pioneer settlements, gardens and five other exhibit halls with a host of artifacts. There is also a strong representation for Native American tribes of the area including the Cayuse people and the Umatilla and Walla Walla tribes. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March to October. The hours shift from November to February to be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Exhibits are open each day throughout the year except for Tuesday. Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and students, $4 for children 6-12 and free for children under 6.

Fans of shopping won't want to miss an opportunity to explore downtown Walla Walla. There are numerous stores throughout the area that are worth your time to explore. Some of the stores include art studios, clothing, food, crafts and garden, among many others. One fun way to enjoy shopping in downtown Walla Walla is just wandering through the streets to see what you find.
Art Galleries in Downtown Walla Walla

Art has a prominent place in downtown Walla Walla and that is shown through the numerous art galleries and studios. This is another type of establishment that can be fun to find by just wandering through the streets. While many of the art galleries are focused on the fine arts, Gesa Power House Theatre is one that embraces the performing arts. This historic venue seats 300 and offers a variety of shows.

Downtown Walla Walla isn't only for finding places to go and see. There are plenty of events that happen throughout the year. Some of these events are annual such as trick or treating in downtown around Halloween; the Veteran's Day parade in November; or the Farmer's Market.
